Gus. G. Giankos, age 75, passed away on July 19. Veteran U.S. Army Medical Corps, Korean War and active in the Army Reserves until 1961. Beloved husband of Louise, nee Hansen; loving father of Carla (Lee) Pertle, Denise (Ron) Onkst, Lesa (David) Figliulo and Sharon (Billy) DeFrancisco; devoted grandfather of nine; great-grandfather of two. Pharmacist and business owner of Chelovich Pharmacy for over 28 years, Gus was also a longtime member of the National Association of Retail Druggists (NARD), Chicago Retail Druggist Association (CRDA), and Chicago Drug Club (CDC). Although retired, Gus held a part-time Pharmacist position at the Lawrence House located at Lawrence and Broadway in Chicago. Cherished friend of many, Gus will be remembered for his day-to-day kind and gentle manner and his generous loving heart. Visitation Sunday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Ave. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home Monday morning for Funeral Service at 12:30 p.m. Interment Elmwood Cemetery.
