NFL training camp is serious business, but expect a dose of humor on Aug. 8. That’s when the Bears stage the second Run With Staley, a 1-mile race around the campus of Olivet Nazarene University for kids 14 and younger.
Running a mile under the August sun sounds like a challenge for kids — imagine the experience for the Bears’ mascot.
“Staley drinks a lot of fluids throughout the course of the day,” Staley’s handler, Scott Adams, assured RedEye.
“Staley usually does the first portion of the race, then tends to cheat using a gas-powered scooter,” Adams said.
