1. In good hands
Lollapalooza tip No. 34: Think before you crowd-surf, or at least make sure you’re wearing underwear.
2. Congrats
And the winner of the third annual “Lollapalooza band name that could be mistaken for an item in the Playboy mansion” is … ladies and gentlemen, it’s a tie between Sparklehorse and The Satin Peaches.
3. Message received
Kudos to Alec Baldwin for contributing messages for the Save the Manatee Club. As Alec says, if you don’t want to save the manatees YOU’RE A RUDE, THOUGHTLESS LITTLE PIG!
4. Suave
A favorite from the RedEye archives: Zach Braff’s audition photo for “The Antonio Banderas Story.”
5. Hmmm
Depending on how you look at it, Nicole Richie requesting the same jail Paris Hilton did time in is very loyal or very “Single White Female.”
6. Decisions, decisions
The release of “Grand Theft Auto IV” has been delayed until next year, MTV reports. Programmers are debating whether to include “American Idol” DVDs as a new murder weapon.
7. Local impact
Aerosmith is due in town Sept. 10, news that’s sure to boost the local leather pants industry.
8. Sweet amnesia
The best thing about “The Bourne Ultimatum” is that while Matt Damon’s character is recovering his memory, we’ll be forgetting all the crappy blockbusters from earlier this summer.
9. The big one
The final Harry Potter novel has sold 11.5 million copies in its first 10 days. Either a lot of people were looking forward to this book or a lot of people needed a cheap boat anchor.
