Construction projects will cause changes on two CTA routes beginning this weekend.
The O’Hare branch of the Blue Line will be on a single track between Grand and Division from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday, and then again from 8 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday. All customers will board trains on the northbound tracks.
The single track will be in effect Mondays through Fridays, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m., until mid-September.
Blue Line service will be suspended between the Western and Clark/Lake stations Aug. 24-27 and Sept. 7-10. Bus shuttles will be available.
Southbound Red Line trains from Fullerton to Cermak/Chinatown, which normally operate through the subway, will be rerouted to the elevated tracks from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.
Northbound Red Line trains Cermak/Chinatown to Fullerton, which usually operate through the subway, will be rerouted to the elevated tracks starting Monday through Thursday, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. The overnight closures also would be in effect during the same hours Aug. 27 to Aug. 31.
