We’re deep into summer, and that can mean only one thing on our highways: big, beefy guys, wearing blue jeans, thick boots, cutoff T-shirts, leather vests, plenty of metal, shaded aviator glasses and many tattoos, tooling by on motorcycles.
Bikers able to crunch a beer can in a single squeeze. Real men, right? Maybe, maybe not. Maybe real men can be found on bicycles. Here are five reasons why:
1. Bicyclists are more willing to brave bad weather. Ever see a motorcyclist in the winter?
2. Bicyclists are helping the environment. Only one of these two-wheeled vehicles burns gas, emits fumes and makes excessive noise.
3. Bicyclists have to be in better shape. You see a lot more fat guys on motorcycles.
4. Bicyclists aren’t afraid to wear helmets. Really, how dumb can you be to go without one?
5. Bicyclists don’t need a female passenger clinging from behind to validate masculinity. Ever see a male motorcyclist let the woman drive? Didn’t think so.
