No deal yet for QB
There still was no word Sunday on whether Falcons QB Michael Vick will make a plea agreement with prosecutors in his federal indictment on dogfighting charges. A grand jury is scheduled to convene Monday, although there’s no indication it will take up further allegations against Vick. Federal prosecutors have said they plan to seek a superseding indictment, which would include new charges, including racketeering, sources told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
In like Quinn?
Asked if Brady Quinn is now in the mix to be the starter after going 13-of 20-for 155 yards with two touchdowns in the final 9 minutes 20 seconds of the Browns’ 23-20 loss to the Lions, coach Romeo Crennel didn’t say no. “You’ve got to give the young man credit,” he said. “Their best guys weren’t in there, but our best guys weren’t in there either. I’ll look at the tape and we’ll decide.”

Roger Federer won his 50th tournament title by beating James Blake 6-1, 6-4 in the Western & Southern Financial Group Masters in Mason, Ohio. At 26, he became the fifth-youngest player to reach 50.

– Steady rain forced NASCAR to postpone the Nextel Cup race Sunday at Michigan International Speedway. The 3M Performance 400 was rescheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, but the forecast called for more rain and possibly more on Tuesday. – Ricky Rudd, 50, said he plans to retire from the NASCAR Nextel Cup series after this season.
