David L. MacLean, with his family by his side at 9 p.m. on Aug. 17, 2007, in his 50th year.
Loving father of Kelly and Taegan; husband and best friend to Tess.
He is survived by his mother, Helen; sister, Margaret (Paul) Cadieux; sister, Helen (Ken) Campbell; brother, Rod (Diana) MacLean; sister, Barbara McDonald; and brother, Dan MacLean.
The family would like to thank Dr. Chris Lund, Yasmin Rizzi and all the nurses that came to the aid of David.
David was an accomplished horseman with a career spanning 30 years in the thoroughbred industry.
Well known for his passion and dedication to what he loved and the horses he trained.
An incandescent force in the lives of those who had the privilege to know him, David’s strength was intangible.
He knew no boundary, no finish line, no hurdle that couldn’t be surpassed.
His will was poetry and his light was beautiful.
He will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of David’s life will be held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home & Chapel, 21 First St., Orangeville,519-941-1392, on Wednesday Aug. 22, 2007 at 1 p.m. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Memorial donations in memory of David may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Long Run Thoroughbred Retirement Society.
A tree will be planted in memory of David in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville.
A dedication service will be held on Sunday, Sept.
