This ends right here, right now.
No more excuses for Rex Grossman.
I know it’s preseason, but here’s what I want Saturday night at home against the San Francisco 49ers.
I want flawless center-to-QB exchanges. Folks, this is basic Pop Warner football.
Because I’ll tell you something, the rest of the Chicago Bears football team is good to go. I mean, we’re so loaded everywhere else, it’s silly.
Off the charts special teams. Two great returns Monday night, and another stripped ball on kick-off coverage.
Defense. Ridiculous. Our speed rushers are fantastic, the linebackers are the best, and the DBs are top-notch.
Kicking game? Solid enough.
Running game? Looks good to me.
So, there’s just that one teensy, nagging little problem: the quarterback position.
The good news is, the leash is short. No more “First-year QB” bunk.
Two bad games in a row, and he’s gone. You won’t miss Rex, either. All we need is an average quarterback and we’re going to the Super Bowl. Book it.
By the way, I’ve got my new favorite player picked out. His name is Mike Hass. Little guy. Good receiver. He reminds me of Tommy Waddle.
Let’s find a way to get this guy on the field. I don’t care if it’s as the seventh-string-receiver-because-we-already-have-Devin Hester-and-those-other-guys.
Oh, and I haven’t forgotten about you, Tommie Harris. Please return by the regular season. You’re needed. Thank you.
Thanks to all the Bears, for they’ve helped take the focus off the White Sox.
So far, I can’t stand 1) the fact Jose Contreras just plain stinks now, pitching like his “actual age” and 2) Scott Podsednik apparently has the upper body of a 70 year-old man (Enough with the strained rib cage, twisted oblique, tender abs, tender stomach, tender loins, bruised spleen and itchy belly button crap. Do us all a favor and really break something.); and 3) Ozzie Guillen should just shut up and manage.
Consider yourself blamed.
Also, I think if the Cubs win 20 more games to get to 85 victories, that will be enough to win the division.
