Curious about how many calories you’re packing in during a typical girls’ (or guys’) night out? Here’s a look at the estimated calorie content of some popular drinks.
Keep in mind that a 25-year-old woman who is 5-foot-4 and weighs 125 pounds should consume about 1,800 calories per day if she is moderately active, according to Mary Russell, director of nutrition services at the University of Chicago Medical Center. A 25-year-old male who is 5-foot-10 and 175 pounds should consume about 2,800 calories per day if he is moderately active.
According to Russell, a person will gain 1 pound of body fat for each additional 3,500 calories he or she consumes over the amount of energy he or she expends.
