As “Graduation” day approaches, the hype surrounding Kanye West’s new album keeps building — helped along by a little fuel from Kanye himself.
The rapper held a listening party Tuesday night at Manhattan’s New World Stages, according to mtv.com. Legendary rappers Q-Tip and Mos Def were there to show their support. Guests received a complimentary pair of Kanye’s retro white shades from the “Stronger” video and were treated to banana/blueberry smoothies and Garrett’s popcorn, MTV said.
West told the crowd, “I feel this is a comeback for me. I was dealing with a lot of backlash.” He also claimed that “Graduation,” which drops Sept. 11, is his best work to date and one of the Top 10 best hip-hop albums of all-time.
