1. To do battle with Apple and iTunes, European phonemaker Nokia is opening its own digital music store. Five years too late.

2. Half of businesses limit or don’t allow employee use of Facebook at work, says a study. It’s not the site activities that shoot a hole in the workday; it’s the time spent trying to figure out if you actually know the people who want to be your “friend.”

3. Apple and VW are discussing the possibility of building an “iCar” that would merge the two companies’ technologies. Ordinary people would consider it a car with a computer and an iPod stuck in it, but the people waiting in line to buy it would understand that it’ll change everything about the way computers and iPods are put into cars.

4. The A&P grocery store chain is suing two brothers who filmed an obscene rap parody video in the produce department of an A&P store where they worked. The chain said it was worried the video would damage the store’s reputation, apparently even more than would calling it to everybody’s attention by suing.

5. Web sites are battling for placement on America’s cell phone screens. This will become really important to consumers when cell phone screens reach about 12 inches.
