His childhood was spent in the Augusta, WI area where he enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his large extended family.

In 1968 they moved to Wood Dale, IL, where he and Marilyn raised six children.
In 1972 he and two partners opened City Tank & Pump, located in Skokie, IL; 2007 marked his 50th year as a member of Pipefitters Union Local 597.

He enjoyed all 14 of his grandchildren and recently learned he was to become a great-grandfather.
After his retirement in 1997, he and Marilyn settled into their beautiful riverfront home in Jim Falls, WI, where they could fish and enjoy the countryside.
Wanting to be closer to their children and grandchildren, they moved back to Illinois in 2000.
He will be remembered for his selfless devotion to his family, quick witted humor and his easy going personality.
