Members of the Chicago 2016 Olympics marketing team will present “Chicago Puts its ‘Games’ Face On,” a luncheon seminar sponsored by BMA/Chicago.

Marketing consultants Mark Mitten and Gordon Kane will discuss the challenges Chicago still faces in its bid to bring the Olympics here. The duo will explain why Chicago has what it takes to beat the competition, which officially includes Baku, Azerbaijan; Doha, Qatar; Prague, Czech Republic; Madrid; Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo.

Mitten is a former McKinsey & Co. partner and a leader of its North American marketing practice. He was most recently with Mark Burnett Productions working brand-placement deals for clients such as Pontiac and Pepsi.

Kane is a veteran sports and consumer marketing specialist who in the 1990s was director of marketing and brand development for the U.S. Olympic Committee and vice president of Olympic Properties of the United States.

The event begins at 11:30 a.m on Thursday at the Hotel InterContinental, 505 N. Michigan Ave. The cost is $45 for members and guests and $65 for non-members. For details, visit www.bmachicago.org.
