* Daddy-to-be Joel Madden says he’s also a husband-to-be, according to People.com. “Obviously, marriage is in our future,” the Good Charlotte singer said about girlfriend Nicole Richie. “I don’t know when or where or how, but right now our priority is our family and is the baby,” he told radio host Ryan Seacrest.

* Kanye West’s “Graduation” album trounced 50 Cent’s “Curtis” in the much-hyped rap sales showdown with nearly 1 million copies sold the first week, the best debut of the year for the music industry. West has sold about 957,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan figures on Billboard.com. Despite his victory, West was hardly rubbing it in 50’s face. In fact, he said he was humbled by the win: “It feels overwhelming,” West told The Associated Press.

* In keeping with the latest celebrity trend, actress Mary-Louise Parker has adopted a baby girl from Africa, her spokeswoman confirmed to People.com.
