START ‘EM

QB Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers vs. 49ers

Despite completing 21 of 34 passes for 242 yards, Roethlisberger had only one score in Week 2 against the Bills. This week’s opponent, the 49ers, gave up 368 yards and a TD to Marc Bulger on Sunday. Look for two or more scores.

QB Vince Young, Titans at Saints: He faces a horrible Saints secondary that has allowed 531 passing yards and five TD passes in two games.

RB LaMont Jordan, Raiders vs. Browns: Jordan has put up 159 yards of offense in back-to-back weeks: 70 yards rushing and 89 receiving in Week 1, and 159 yards rushing in Week 2.

RB Clinton Portis, Redskins vs. Giants: Questions about splitting carries have been answered early. Portis looks fresh and rejuvenated.

SIT ‘EM

QB David Garrard, Jaguars at Broncos

Until the Jaguars get their running game going, Garrard will have a rough time creating an efficient passing game. This week they travel to Denver to take on the Broncos’ second-rated defense. It will be another week before the Jaguars get things going.

QB J.P. Losman, Bills at Patriots: Losman isn’t as bad as his numbers suggest. He has faced Denver, Pittsburgh and now New England.

RB Edgerrin James, Cardinals at Ravens: James has looked like the Edge of old in the first two weeks, averaging 110 rushing yards a game. But this week the Cardinals travel to Baltimore.

WR Vincent Jackson, Chargers at Packers: After a great preseason, he hasn’t lived up to expectations, catching 7 passes for 81 yards and no TDs.

SLEEPERS

QB Jason Campbell, Redskins vs. Giants

Campbell played well against a tough Eagles defense Monday night, throwing for 209 yards and a touchdown. He’s an excellent start this week against a reeling Giants secondary that has allowed opposing quarterbacks 631 yards and seven touchdown passes.

RB DeAngelo Williams, Panthers at Falcons: So far the former first-round pick looks stronger and faster than DeShaun Foster. Williams is Game Time Decision’s Gut Call of the Week.

WR Nate Burleson, Seahawks vs. Bengals: He has a huge opportunity to make another fantasy impact against defensively challenged Bengals.
