New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine. The Democrat left the hospital and resumed gubernatorial authority Thursday, three days after surgery on the leg he broke in a near-fatal April car crash. Corzine had transferred gubernatorial power to Senate President Richard Codey on Monday, just before being sedated for surgery. Corzine had been hospitalized for 18 days after an April 12 crash in which a vehicle slammed into a guardrail on the Garden State Parkway.

Democratic fundraiser Norman Hsu. Federal prosecutors unsealed a criminal complaint Thursday charging Hsu with breaking campaign finance laws and creating a “massive” $60 million Ponzi scheme to defraud victims across the U.S. The complaint says Hsu — who raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Hillary Clinton and others — made contributions to candidates in other people’s names. When his criminal history was revealed, politicians began returning his money. Clinton said she would give back $850,000.
