Doing God’s work
I just wanted to thank Barbara Mahany for the sad and yet wonderful story she wrote on [Children’s Memorial Hospital night chaplain] Stacey Jutila [“Night Rounds,” Sept. 9]. I am a new father of a beautiful and, thankfully, healthy baby girl, and of course thought of her when I read this story.
When Ms. Mahany wrote about the young nurse who was experiencing her first death at the hospital, I almost had to put the paper down, but then reading just a bit more I felt better that both the young nurse and the child had some additional help during those tough hours.
As a new father, I hope I never meet Ms. Jutila under what must be very difficult circumstances at the hospital, but I am glad she is there.
Thank you for the compassionate and well-written article.
