1. “Halo 3,”the latest in Microsoft’s megahit video game series, went on sale Tuesday. Employers of men in their early 20s may want to take this into account when going over Wednesday’s absentee data.

2. Walmart.com, in what it calls a “Customer Contact Reduction” program, is no longer offering site users a customer service telephone number. The next phase in the plan to reduce contact with those bothersome customers: an automatic redirect to Target.com.
