* British Foreign Secretary David Miliband will meet actress and UN goodwill ambassador Angelina Jolie in New York this week to discuss global diplomacy. Miliband is seeking to soften the tone of global relations after Britain became involved in wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

* Kiefer Sutherland had a bad 24 hours. The “24” star was arrested for investigation of misdemeanor drunken driving early Tuesday while still on probation from a similar 2004 conviction. Sutherland failed a field sobriety test, Los Angeles police said.

* The Game pleaded not guilty Tuesday to three felony charges filed after authorities said he pulled a gun during a pickup basketball game at a South Los Angeles school. The Game, whose real name is Jayceon Terrell Taylor, is free on $50,000 bail. He could face more than 5 years in prison if convicted

* Moody’s Investors Service issued its first credit rating on Lyric Opera of Chicago, assigning it an A1, its fifth-highest ranking, and calling the ratings outlook “stable.” Moody’s cited the Lyric’s strong governance, growing financial base, good operating performance and manageable debt. William Mason, Lyric general director, attributed the rating “to the hard work and dedication of the board and staff.”

* A special effects technician was killed in a crash during production of the latest Batman film, “The Dark Knight,” Warner Bros. said Tuesday. The studio said the man, who was not identified, died when a truck carrying a camera platform crashed into a tree Monday in Chertsey, south of London.
