*Writer Stuart Dybek is on a winning streak. The Chicago native and author of “Coast of Chicago” and “I Sailed With Magellan” is getting the $30,000 Rea Award for the Short Story. It comes on the heels of his being named a recipient of a John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation “genius grant” of $500,000 over five years.
*The day the music died: Two disappointing weeks into its fall run, “Nashville” has been pulled from Fox’s Friday schedule effective immediately.
*We are well into the latest round of reports that Jennifer Lopez is pregnant, and the star is once again denying it. “No, no! We get this every week!” a good-natured Lopez told Us Weekly at the recent party in London for her upcoming album, “Brave.”
*Model Gabriel Aubry has been pampering girlfriend Halle Berry through the early stages of pregnancy — massaging her feet and satisfying her food cravings. “She does crave pickles,” he told People magazine early this week in New York. Berry, 41, and Aubry, 32, are expecting their first child “sometime around spring,” he said.
*The date has been set for next year’s installment of Lollapalooza in Grant Park: the very sweaty Aug 1-3.
