Big Bowl’s two downtown locations (6 E. Cedar St.; 60 E. Ohio St.) expand the usual Thursday promotion that offers 20 percent off for students with current ID. On Thursdays throughout October, the restaurant will honor the promotion for college IDs from any year.

Browse more than 300 galleries and boutiques in the West Loop during the Annual Art Walk on Thursday. Check in at Flatfile Gallery (217 N. Carpenter St.) between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. Tickets range from $40 to $60.

Roscoe Village merchants team up for a Charity Shop Crawl from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday with discounts, drinks and giveaways. Fifteen percent of all sales benefits charities. Runs on Roscoe and Belmont Streets between Damen Avenue and Leavitt Street.

Fashion designer (and former hometown girl) Cynthia Rowley (left) discusses her art-meets-fashion book, “Slim: a Fantasy Memoir,” at the Museum of Contemporary Art (220 E. Chicago Ave.) at 6 p.m. Thursday. Free, but space is limited.
