*Mos Def is stepping up his activism on behalf of the Jena 6 teens. The rapper, who traveled to Jena, La., for a march last month, sent out a viral video urging students to walk out of classrooms nationwide this week in protest of the prosecution of the six black teens.

*Bourne Co., which owns the rights to the “Pinocchio” song “When You Wish Upon a Star,” has filed a copyright breach lawsuit against Fox and “The Family Guy” creator and producers, claiming they illegally lifted the tune and damaged the company by adding “anti-Semitic lyrics.” “The Family Guy” version appeared in an episode of the animated series titled “When You Wish Upon a Weinstein” and was sung by patriarch Peter Griffin upon realizing he needs to get his finances in order.

*Nick Cannon and his fiance, Victoria’s Secret model Selita Ebanks, have called off their engagement, People.com reports. “Selita and Nick are taking a break to focus on their careers but still very much love each other and remain the best of friends,” Ebanks’ rep said. In May, the actor and model rode in a chauffeured Rolls-Royce Phantom to New York’s Times Square, where “Selita, will you marry me?” appeared on the Jumbotron.
