Man shoots self in face
A 23-year-old man accidentally shot himself in the face Friday morning in a Gold Coast high-rise, Chicago police said. The man, who was being treated Friday morning at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, suffered wounds that authorities said were not life-threatening. Police said the man probably would be charged with possessing an unregistered firearm and not having a firearm owner’s identification card, both misdemeanors.
Man found dead in SUV
A 27-year-old man was found shot and killed early Friday morning inside an SUV in West Englewood, Chicago police said.
The victim was found with a bullet wound to his head at about 1 a.m. in the 5700 block of South Hoyne Avenue, police said.
He was identified as LaShone Armstrong, said a spokesman for the Cook County medical examiner’s office. No one was in custody.
