Notre Dame QB Zach Abraham threw his second scoring pass to cut Joliet Catholic’s lead to 20-13 in the third quarter, but the Hilltoppers responded with three unanswered TDs.

No. 6 Fremd 25, Schaumburg 14

RB Mike Gyetvay had 33 carries for 228 yards and a TD to lead Fremd to a come-from-behind victory to remain undefeated.

No. 10 Richards 54, Eisenhower 21

Running back Lamar Harvey rushed for 233 yards and 6 TDs. After Eisenhower cut Richards’ lead to 21-14 in the second quarter, Harvey scored on runs of 10 and 3 yards in the last two minutes of the half.

No. 12 Lake Zurich 49, Wauconda 6

Four different players rushed for touchdowns, leading Lake Zurich to a dominant victory. Defensively, the Bears held Wauconda to 92 total yards.

No. 15 St. Rita 52, Fenwick 14

Fenwick opened the scoring with a 95-yard TD run by RB Colin Tobin, Fenwick’s longest play of the season. From there it was all St. Rita. QB Jason Kafka had two second-quarter TD runs (1, 18) as St. Rita took a 31-7 halftime lead and never looked back on Senior Night.

No. 17 Lemont 35, Hillcrest 8

Lemont QB Brett Nagel and RB Bobby Earnest combined to rush for 274 yards in coach Eric Michaelsen’s 100th career win.

Geneva 24, Rochelle 15

Junior Sean Grady scored on a 12-yard TD run, kicked three extra points and added a 32-yard field goal as the Vikings earned at least a tie for their fourth straight Western Sun title.

York 33, Hinsdale Central 28

Senior running back Mike McNulty rushed 27 times for 147 yards and two TDs and junior QB Tom Judge threw three TD passes as York squandered a 21-0 first-half lead but held on at home for sole possession of the West Suburban Silver lead.

Carmel 34, Nazereth 12

Led by RB Geoffery Fields’ 132 yards rushing, Carmel piled up 313 yards on the ground. The Corsairs’ defense held Nazareth to 46 yards of offense in the first half.

Morris 33, Oswego East 12

Morris’ defense was dominant in holding the Wolves to 88 first-half yards and ruining their homecoming. Morris won its fifth straight.

H-F 34, Stagg 13

Homewood-Flossmoor had four sacks and three interceptions and allowed only 28 yards rushing on 27 carries against Stagg.

Thornton 28, T.F. South 24

The Wildcats won their third straight game and keep their playoff hopes alive thanks to a 37-yard TD pass from Darren Jones to Jamal Gray with 55 seconds left.
