Over her 25-year career, Annie Lennox has become one of the most respected women in pop.

Starting in the 1980s as part of the Eurythmics through to her solo career that began with 1992’s “Diva,” she’s earned accolades and awards, including an Oscar, Grammy and Golden Globe for her song “Into the West,” from “The Return of the King.”

So where does the diva keep finding the inspiration?

“It would make my job much easier if I could just switch it on and off,” the 52-year-old said. “I have no plan. Sometimes it starts with a musical or lyrical idea, and I have to expand it. I take the approach of jumping in blindfolded.”

Lennox will play a sold-out show on Oct. 19 at the Cadillac Palace Theater in support of her latest album, the cheerily titled “Songs of Mass Destruction.”
