All in a row

Regarding your “Key strokes” article (Just One Thing, Sept. 16), there is a comment about “typewriter” being the longest word that can be made using the letters on only one row of the keyboard.

I believe there are many others, including perpetuity, prerequire, proprietor and repertoire, among others.

Cleaning up

The Sept. 16 Home Design issue featured colorful designer brooms designed by Stefano Giovannoni for $57. Fifty-seven dollars for a broom? For that money it had better sweep up by itself and take out the garbage.

Absurd law

The absurdity of U.S. Immigration law is that an illegal immigrant can give birth in this country to a perfectly legal baby who is automatically a U.S. citizen.

That’s beyond absurd; it’s stupid and is leading to this whole specious argument about who can stay and who can’t. If you’re legal, the baby is legal. If you’re not, then the child is also not a legal resident.
