Ducks winger Todd Bertuzzi was placed on the injured list Monday because of a concussion sustained a night earlier against the Wild. He is expected to be out at least a week, the team said.

Bertuzzi is coming off an injury-plagued season with the Panthers and the Red Wings. He was suspended in March 2004 for sucker-punching Steve Moore of the Avalanche during a game.

*Jesse Boulerice, who last week was given the longest single-season suspension in NHL history (25 games) for hitting the Canucks’ Ryan Kesler in the face with his stick, was placed on waivers by the Flyers.

*The NHL Players Association officially nominated former Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul Kelly for its executive director position.

*Ales Kotalik scored a power-play goal with four seconds left in overtime to give the Sabres a 5-4 come-from-behind win over the Maple Leafs. Kotalik’s slap shot from the left circle was stopped by goalie Andrew Raycroft, but Toronto defenseman Bryan McCabe inadvertently knocked the puck into his own net to give the Sabres the dramatic victory.
