It has been eight years, six months, two days and a handful of Bears quarterbacks since Donovan McNabb was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles, five slots before the Bears could take him — and still it seems as though Chicago pines for its would-be hometown hero. Even Bears defensive tackle Tommie Harris made the faux paus this off-season of suggesting McNabb would be a better fit than Rex Grossman or Brian Griese.
McNabb sidestepped the issue Wednesday like it was a charging pass-rusher, saying thanks, but no thanks, Chicago. He wants to finish his career in Philadelphia.
What gives, Donnie Mac? What does Philly have that Chicago doesn’t? Not much, if you really look at it.
