A Chicago Fire Department paramedic was struck and killed by a car in Schaumburg early Thursday after getting out of his vehicle because of a flat tire, police said. Randy Orzada, 43, had parked in the curbside lane of eastbound Algonquin Road after getting a flat tire and was either walking or standing in the roadway when he was struck by a car, Schaumburg Police Sgt. John Nebl said.
