Autos
*Hybrid versions of General Motors’ full-size sport-utility vehicles, with 6-liter V-8s, match or exceed the city fuel-economy ratings for some midsize passenger cars, according to the Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA says the two-wheel-drive Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon hybrids get 21 m.p.g. in the city. That matches the 4-cylinder, automatic-transmission versions of the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry and exceeds the 19 m.p.g. for the V-6 Accord and Camry. Tahoe and Yukon also exceed the city ratings for V-6 versions of the Chevy Malibu, 18 m.p.g. with the 3.5-liter and 17 with the 3.6-liter. The four-wheel-drive Tahoe and Yukon have a city rating of 20. Highway ratings aren’t close, however. Prices haven’t been announced, though sales will begin around Jan. 1.
