Shuttle Discovery soars into space Tuesday, carrying a long to-do list for work on the space station. The mission, which calls for five spacewalks, includes relocating a giant girder and solar wings and installing a live-in compartment that Discovery carries in its cargo bay. The crew includes former Lombard resident Daniel Tani, whose 90-year-old mother saw the launch in Florida.
