*Dave Matthews Band will play for Army football next month at two free shows. The U.S. Military Academy beat out Air Force, Navy and more than 100 other colleges that participated in the World’s Loudest Pep Rally contest to win a visit from the rock star at West Point. Matthews will play for cadets Nov. 14 and 15.
*Pete Doherty, best-known as the on-off-on boyfriend of model Kate Moss, was released Wednesday from a drug treatment order, ending 18 months of court supervision. The judge said she has been assured that the rocker’s treatment plan would continue. Doherty, lead singer of Babyshambles, said he intends to stay free of drugs. “My life has changed,” he said.
*TV host Gary Collins was arrested on suspicion of DUI after an accident in the San Fernando Valley, Calif., police say. Collins, 69, was not at fault for the crash Tuesday evening, police said, but he was found to be under the influence, according to People.com. Collins, who was not injured, was taken to jail and later bailed out. Another driver involved was listed in critical condition at a local hospital. The actor is most remembered as the host of “Hour Magazine” and “The Home Show.” He has also done many guest spots. A rep for Collins wasn’t available.
