– What happened to “Law & Order: Criminal Intent”? Did NBC cancel it, or did it move to USA Network? — Marilyn Williams, Lancaster, Calif.
It’s the latter. USA, where new episodes are being shown Thursdays, has the first-run rights to the show this season; NBC can play repeats afterward. Vincent D’Onofrio, Kathryn Erbe and Chris Noth continue to star, with Alicia Witt filling in while Julianne Nicholson is on maternity leave.
– What happened with the series on TNT about the Roloff family, with the parents who are little people from Oregon? Was the show canceled? — Kathy Fyfe, Lansdale, Pa.
Actually, TLC is the network that shows “Little People, Big World,” and the unscripted program just began its latest season a couple of weeks ago. In the new Monday episodes, the Roloffs are touring the western United States in an RV, visiting such sites as the Grand Canyon.
– I have searched all available information on the new fall schedule, and I do not find “Medium.” Will it return? — Margaret Hoefer, Oklahoma City
Yes. The Patricia Arquette-starring, Kelsey Grammer-produced drama series is scheduled to return for its fourth season on NBC in January. It’ll be in the Sunday lineup, so the network’s season of “Sunday Night Football” must finish first.
– Watching “Moonlight” on CBS is just like watching a show from a few years back. The character Nicholas was a vampire cop, and a female coroner would supply him with blood. Please tell me the name of that show. — Lynn Dudeck, Kenosha, Wis.
It was “Forever Knight,” a Canadian-made melodrama that also aired on CBS during its original run, in a late-night slot shortly before David Letterman moved over to the network from NBC. Geraint Wyn Davies played Detective Nick Knight, with Catherine Disher as the doctor who supported his efforts.
After its CBS stint, the show moved into first-run syndication, then was picked up in reruns by Sci Fi Channel. Before the series debuted in 1992, Rick Springfield got the franchise going with a one-shot 1989 TV movie titled “Nick Knight.” The three seasons of “Forever Knight” are available in separate DVD sets from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.
