William Shatner will not boldly go where he’s gone before.

Even though his pointy-eared buddy Spock, played by Leonard Nimoy, will be reprising his role in the new “Star Trek” movie, Shatner isn’t on board as Captain James T. Kirk, according to The Associated Press

Shatner, 76, who may be more recognizable to today’s generation as the guy in the priceline.com commercials, was pretty surprised by the decision.

“I couldn’t believe it. I’m not in the movie at all,” Shatner said, according to the AP. “Leonard, God bless his heart, is in, but not me.”

The new movie, directed by “Lost” creator J.J. Abrams, is scheduled for release in December 2008. It recounts an early adventure on the Starship Enterprise.
