The Indianapolis Colts held Pro Bowl players defensive end Dwight Freeney and wide receiver Marvin Harrison, and starting guard Ryan Lilja out of Wednesday’s practice.

All three were listed as out for the practice. Harrison, an eight-time Pro Bowler and the franchise’s career receiving leader, has missed two of the last three games with a bruised left knee although coach Tony Dungy was optimistic Harrison would play in Sunday’s showdown against New England.

“I do anticipate he’ll practice (Thursday),” Dungy said. “I think he’ll play (Sunday), but we’ll have to see how it goes.”

The absence of Freeney is not uncommon. He also sat out last Wednesday and has occasionally taken extra days off this season to stay healthy.
