Stephen Colbert, host of “The Colbert Report,” is officially not on the ballot as a Democratic presidential candidate in his native state of South Carolina, according to the AP.
After his campaign paid a $2,500 filing fee, the state Democratic party’s executive council voted 13-3 to keep the funnyman off the ballot.
Waring Howe, a member of the council, said Colbert “serves to detract from the serious candidates on the ballot.”
On a positive note, Democrats said he will get back his $2,500.
