Story line: Bucs played like team determined to take control of weak NFC South. Byron Leftwich played like QB who won’t be starting very long in Atlanta. In a highly debatable move, Falcons coach Bobby Petrino decided to start Leftwich over Joey Harrington, who had won 2 in row. Leftwich went 15 of 28 for 106 yards with 2 INTs, 2 fumbles.

Stars: Ronde Barber had 41-yard fumble return TD; Earnest Graham ran for 102 yards with 26-yard TD on 1st play of 4th to make it 31-0.

Extra point: Bucs allowed just 49 yards rushing, holding Warrick Dunn to 32. He is still 26 yards short of 10,000.

Quote: “A lot is going to be said that we messed it up because of chemistry, but if we go out there and execute, we don’t care who the quarterback is.” — Dunn.
