NO LEEWAY: Republican Mike Huckabee on Sunday rejected letting states decide whether to allow abortions, saying the right to life is a moral issue not subject to multiple interpretations. “It’s the logic of the Civil War,” Huckabee said on “Fox News Sunday.” “If morality is the point here, and if it’s right or wrong, not just a political question, then you can’t have 50 different versions of what’s right and what’s wrong.”
TRADE TALK: Democrat Barack Obama sharply criticized Hillary Clinton on Sunday for her past support of the North American Free Trade Agreement, saying the former first lady had changed her mind about the trade accord only since becoming a presidential candidate. “I think it’s important to note that Sen. Clinton was a cheerleader for NAFTA for more than a decade,” Obama said in Iowa. NAFTA was passed in 1993 with the strong support of President Bill Clinton. Her spokesman, Phil Singer, rejected Obama’s criticism. “The fact is that Sen. Clinton has been voicing serious concerns about trade agreements for years,” he said.
