I LOVE …
… the Jack Frost martini served in the bar at the Four Seasons-Chicago [120 E. Delaware Pl.]. I go there every Christmas season after shopping.
— Margie Brandt, Vernon Hills
… the Chicago Water Taxi service. I use it during my lunch hour and it has extended my summer for me. I’ll continue to enjoy my daily boat ride right into the holiday season.
— Arlene C. Hogan, Naperville
… the rich, thick super chocolate Spanish style “Barthelona” hot chocolate at Angel Food Bakery (1636 W. Montrose Ave.; 773-728-1512). Even cooler is that they serve it as both 10 ounces ($3.50) and petite 3 ounces ($1.75).
— Monica Eng, reporter
I HATE …
… people who insist on pushing their shopping carts directly up to and parallel with the deli counter. Seriously, your cart isn’t ordering a pound of meat, you are and beware if my number is before yours.
— Jeni Hayes, Chicago
… waiting behind people as they use their credit cards to buy one pack of cigarettes.
— Walter Brzeski, Chicago
… trying to free new toys from their tough plastic chambers and wire manacles. Besides the wasteful aspect of the packaging, it’s no fun for Mommy!
— Kathy Kreiman, Villa Park
