Summary: Wheaton North went on a 14-5 fourth-quarter run to turn a 39-38 deficit into a 52-44 lead. Wheaton North will play in the championship of the St. Charles East Tournament for the first time since 2004.

Top performers: Wheaton North — G Kristian Rosenberger, 18 points; F John Bagge, 12 points, 13 rebounds. East Aurora — F William Brown, 13 points.

Halftime score: 22-22.

The bonus: “I was off the first two games, so it just feels good to hit some shots,” Rosenberger said of his 6-for-8 shooting performance. “We’ve never won this [tournament], so hopefully we can change that.”

St. Joseph 66, St. Charles East 58 (OT)

Records: St. Joseph 3-0, St. Charles East 1-2.

Summary: No. 12 St. Joseph outscored St. Charles East 10-3 in the last 1 minute 18 seconds of overtime to come away with the win. DeAndre McCamey’s put-back with :07 remaining in regulation tied the game at 50, which led to the overtime.

Top performers: St. Joseph — McCamey, 20 points; Diamond Taylor, 19 points. St. Charles East — Zach Scott 13.

Halftime score: 27-24, St. Charles East.

The bonus: “Everybody comes out hard against us. We’ve got to back it up,” McCamey said. “It was far from perfect and it came down to who wanted it more.”

Other tournaments

Lane Tech: No. 11 Zion-Benton avoided an upset in a 61-60 overtime victory over Mt. Carmel. Ronald Steward led the Zee-Bees with 13 points. No. 7 Evanston, led by Ryan Frazier’s 19 points, topped Taft 90-50. No. 5 Oak Park defeated Lane Tech 73-49.

Young

Bolingbrook 57, Las Vegas Bishop Gorman 52

Records: Bolingbrook 2-1, Bishop Gorman 1-1

Summary: No. 10 Bolingbrook rallied from a 25-17 deficit late in the first half behind Miranda Tate, who scored 17 of her game-high 24 points in the second half. Leading 41-40 in the fourth quarter, Bolingbrook got a big three-pointer from Tate with 6 minutes 26 seconds to play.

Top performers: Bolingbrook — G/F Tate, 24 points, 7 rebounds. Bishop Gorman — C Danielle Diamant, 16 points.

Halftime score: 25-21, Bishop Gorman

The bonus: “We were kind of worried. They’re bigger and more physical, but we just picked it up and played our game and everything fell,” Tate said.

Other games at Young: No. 6 Montini fell to McCluer-South Berkeley (Mo.) 50-47, despite carrying a 38-25 lead into the fourth quarter. Michala Johnson had 20 points for the Broncos (3-1). Top-ranked Young (3-0) pulled off two wins, defeating Proviso West 67-26 and Milwaukee Rufus King 60-48. Ashlee Anderson scored 26 points in the latter game. Kara Smith added 14 points and Porsha Harris grabbed 18 rebounds.
