Buoyed by mostly ecstatic reviews Wednesday, the Steppenwolf Theatre production of “August: Osage County” had already sold $600,000 worth of tickets by late afternoon, a spokesman for the Broadway producers of the show at the Imperial Theatre in New York said. Although no assurance of long-term viability, that’s a very high daily wrap for a straight play on Broadway.
