LAKE FOREST, DISTRICT 115

*Aleka Scoco, a student at Lake Forest High School, recently was named the winner of the Lake Forest American Legion Post’s annual Veteran’s Day essay contest. Aleka received $1,000 to donate to the LFHS club or organization of her choice. She is donating the money to the LFHS Band and the Human Rights Club. Runners up, Sarah Condic, Kelsey Kleinert and Trevor Wellington received $250 to give to their chosen club or activity.

*The Lake Forest High School Dads’ Club will meet from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday in Northern Trust Bank, Lower Ground Floor, 959 S. Waukegan Rd. A panel will discuss the challenges of drinking and drugs in high school and how students are avoiding them.
