An assistant manager at a KFC in Merrillville was found slain this morning after an apparent robbery, authorities said. Maxine Urbanczyk, 61, was found by another employee, said Lake County Coroner David Pastrick. Urbanczyk appeared to have suffered blunt-force trauma to the head, but an autopsy scheduled for Tuesday would determine the cause of death, Pastrick said.
