*Antonio Banderas and his wife, Melanie Griffith, paid $50,000 in Santiago, Chile, for works by Joan Miro and Salvador Dali at a charity event this week, an auction official said. “It was virtually a donation to UNICEF,” said Denise Ratinoff, head of the auction house.

*Anthrax has picked an unknown singer, New York’s Dan Nelson, to be their new frontman, according to a statement issued Thursday by the band.
