Celebrity interviews are as much a part of the Hollywood machine as the movies themselves.
Stars are constantly out promoting their new projects — and answering the occasional personal question to satisfy a curious public.
But sometimes there’s more to what a star says than meets the ear. RedEye whips out its trusty translator to read between the lines of a few A-list stars’ recent quotes.

“I like a good cry. I think those are the films I like the most. I like ones that make me cry.”
Translation: “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” is my favorite movie of all time.
Brad Pitt, to TV host Charlie Rose:
“I think we’ll crap out somewhere between seven and nine [kids]. … Yeah. Somewhere in there we’ll crap out.”
Translation: “The Spears women have thrown down the gauntlet, and Angelina and I accept their challenge.”
“Million Dollar Baby” and “P.S. I Love You” star Hilary Swank, to Web site moviesonline.ca:
“[‘P.S. I Love You’ co-star Gerard Butler] is really playful. He’s kind of a kid in that way. He has a lot of wonder.”
Translation: “I really miss Clint Eastwood.”
