*COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Levance Fields hit a three-pointer with 4.7 seconds left in overtime to give No. 11 Pittsburgh a 65-64 victory over No. 6 Duke in New York. Fields finished with 21 points for the Panthers (11-0). Kyle Singler and Gerald Henderson both had 17 points for Duke (10-1).

*NFL: The league rejected an appeal by the players union Thursday on behalf of suspended Titans cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones, who has been arrested six times since being drafted in 2005.

*RUNNING: Chicago’s annual marathon will continue under sponsorship from Bank of America, which acquired the race’s longtime sponsor, LaSalle Bank. David Rudis, Illinois head of Bank of America, said a new examination of procedures after stifling heat produced widespread casualties at this year’s race is planned.

*COLLEGE FOOTBALL: Authorities have charged two women and a man with a weekend attack on three North Carolina football players, which police said was motivated by robbery and included the sexual assault of at least two players. Police said the players had been attacked early Sunday at their off-campus apartment. All three were bound with tape, and one of those charged threatened the players with a knife, police said.
