Morgan Park cut the lead to 41-38 with 6:12 to play but couldn’t get closer. F Devynn Baker finished with 14 points and seven rebounds for Von Steuben (11-1). … No. 15 Hillcrest (12-0) jumped to an 18-7 first-quarter lead and held off Thornton the rest of the way for a 60-46 win. F Uniquah Hampton scored 17 points, and G Juanita Robinson chipped in 15 points and three steals for the Hawks. … Lauren Niemiera’s 12 points and seven rebounds led Marist to a 70-30 win over Shepard. G Haley Stercic added 12 points for the RedHawks (9-4).
WHEATON NORTH: No. 9 Schaumburg charged to a 23-9 first-quarter lead behind Kylie Castans’ 13 points and then cruised to rout Downers Grove North 63-21. Castans finished with 19 points and Drewann Pancratz scored 13 for the Saxons (14-0). … Toni Kokenis scored 13 points to lead No. 13 Hinsdale Central (13-1) to a 39-18 win over Glenbard North. … No. 14 Waubonsie Valley (13-0) continued its perfect season with a 57-45 victory over Willowbrook. F Danielle Brown led the Warriors with 13 points, and Jessica Morice added nine points and eight rebounds.
BLOOMINGTON/NORMAL: No. 3 Hope, led by 19 points from Zhaque Gray, finished off Normal Community 71-47. Ashley Brown added 16 points for the Eagles (11-1). Hope shook off a 32-29 halftime deficit by outscoring Normal 28-6 in the third quarter. … Maine South (11-4) prevailed 55-50 over Rock Island despite the Rocks’ 20-11 fourth-quarter surge. Maine South’s Michelle Tourtillott led all scorers with 24 points.
WARREN: Sarah Boothe’s 21 points, 15 rebounds and nine blocks were too much for Palatine to handle in a 58-40 win for No. 5 Warren (15-0). … No. 7 Wheeling (15-2) jumped to a 20-5 first-quarter lead and continued to a 63-40 victory over Deerfield. Ashley Wilson totaled 16 points, seven rebounds, seven steals and two blocks in the win.
