A 21-year-old employee of a popcorn shop was arrested this weekend after he allegedly tried to use a portable machine to record a customer’s credit card number, prosecutors said. Julian Sherman is an employee of Garrett’s Popcorn, 670 N. Michigan Ave. When a customer handed Sherman a credit card for payment Saturday, Sherman allegedly took the device out of his pocket and attempted to swipe the card, Chicago Police Sgt. Eugene Mullins said. The customer called police.
