Jack Standring, age 87, passed away on December 29, 2007.
Long-time Chicagoan, moved to Florida in his retirement.
Born in Breckenridge, MN where he attended grammar school and high school.
He graduated from Northwestern University.
He was a Naval Officer aboard the destroyer, USS Humphreys during World War II. He worked for Statistical Tabulating Corporation in Chicago and later May & Speh Company in Downers Grove.
In Naples he was a volunteer at the Naples Community Hospital.
He is survived by his wife Stella; five sons, Jay (Julie), Tim (Susan), Bob (Carole), Terry, and Pat; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; he is also survived by two step-daughters, Denise (Jeff) Raney, Nancy (Paul) Struzzerio, one step daughter-in-law Sheila Cruise, and seven step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his late wife, Irene, daughter Susan and step-son, Stephen Cruise.
A memorial service will be held in Chicago at St. Cajetan Catholic Church, 2445 West 112th Street, on Saturday, January 26.
Visitation will be at 11 a.m. with Mass at 11:30.
