VOLUNTEERS

*The American Cancer Society needs volunteer drivers for its Road to Recovery program. A volunteer training session will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Feb. 5 at the American Cancer Society regional office, 17060 Oak Park Ave. in Tinley Park. Drivers take patients to their treatment appointments. Registration for orientation is requested. Call 708-633-7770.

FUNDRAISERS

*The St. Patrick and St. Teresa Youth Group will hold a breakfast buffet from 7:30 a.m. to noon Sunday at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 186 S. Indiana Ave. in Kankakee. All proceeds will benefit the activities of the teen group. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children. Carryout orders will be available.

*VFW Post 9545 sponsored by the L9545 Ladies Auxiliary will hold a fundraiser for Jeff Bunna from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the VFW Hall, 323 Old Hickory Rd. in New Lenox. Jeff Bunna was recently diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer, and the illness has left him unable to work to support his wife and six children. There will be food, live entertainment, a cash bar and live and silent auctions. Call Kristin Desnoyers at 708-638-1025.

THOSE MAKING A DIFFERENCE

*Bremen High School in Midlothian recently collected more than 550 personal hygiene, entertainment and consumable items to send to troops overseas in cooperation with Operation Care Package.
